Terms of Service

The following are the Terms of Service that apply when hiring Clean Thumb to prevent misunderstanding or miscommunication.

All clients (residential, commercial, post-construction):


1. All clients, regardless of type, should read and understand these Terms of Service.  These apply and are legally binding to all our clients.


2. Clean Thumb provides interior cleaning and organizing services only.  We service residential and commercial facilities.  Only when hired to do a trash-out cleaning, will we remove large amounts of clutter, items, and trash to a client-provided dumpster container.  Those trash-out cleaning services are at a different rate than our standard cleaning services.


3. Both the client and Clean Thumb and our employees or Independent Contractors are responsible for clear communication and being responsible with the clients’ belongings and property.  All incidents, big or small, are to be reported immediately.


4. Clean Thumb guarantees client satisfaction.  If we miss something minor, we will come back to correct it for no charge.  If we miss something that takes more than 30 minutes to fix, we will bill for additional cleaning time.  This guarantee is for 24 hours – you must call and allow us back into the location to correct within 24 hours of the original cleaning.


5. Clean Thumb reserves the right not to clean any home based on common-sense policies that protect everyone. Like, such a safe working environment, presence or suspicion of bugs of any sort, and presence or suspicion of rodents of any kind.


6. Any wording, image, or other content found on Clean Thumb’s website, blog, Facebook page, or any other company-managed website or social media page is the sole responsibility and ownership of and by Carla Von Holtum, owner of Clean Thumb.


7. The laws of the State of Colorado dictate, determine, and describe the responsibilities of both parties (Clean Thumb and its client) in any matter of contention.  Clean Thumb reserves the right to bring about court action, if necessary, to retrieve payment.  This will be done in Denver County, where Clean Thumb is.



Payment terms:

1. Residential clients: we require a credit card to be on file with our credit card processor.  We use a virtual terminal – no client information is saved anywhere on Clean Thumb’s computer or server.  It is the client's responsibility to pay the invoice promptly.


2. Commercial clients: we will invoice all commercial clients with a 15 day15-day net payable.  We accept checks or credit cards from commercial clients.


3. Huge commercial projects: in the case of a project estimated to cost over $2,000, we will have case-specific payments terms.


Other terms:

1. Late Cancellation Fee: Because we need the notice to be able to replace a client’s missed cleaning, a minimum of 48 business hours is required to re-schedule or cancel a cleaning.  If less than 48 business hours are given, we reserve the right to charge a 50% late cancellation fee. If you turn the team member away at your door or locked out – 100% of the service will be invoiced. Schedule changes and cancellations must be made during our business hours Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. After-hours calls or texts will not be acknowledged or considered tendered until 8 am the following business day.

2. Credit card payment declined: If a credit card payment is declined, we will call the client to get corrected information.  No extra fees are charged if paid for within five days.

3. Check payment not cleared: Any bank fees charged to Clean Thumb will be the client's responsibility to reimburse the company.  Full reimbursement, including the original amount and any bank charges, is expected within five days.  After five days, the client is charged a $25 per week (7 days) late fee.  After 30 days of non-payment, we will file a complaint with the small claims court of Denver County.

4. Rates subject to change: Effective after a Lock Period, we reserve the right to adjust pricing as we may deem appropriate. Any pricing adjustment shall take effect upon reasonable notification in advance.
